 Professor Liu has been known worldwide as “Father of China’s Finance”, and “Father of China’s Securities Markets”. He was the first and founding Chairman of China’s Securities Regulatory Commission (“CSRC”) since its establishment. Under his leadership, the CSRC was created in October 1992, which marked the formation of China’s centralized securities market regulatory body. With his guidance, China established its own Stock Exchanges.
Professor Liu also gave birth to the ideas of A-share, B-share and H-share, and started the banking and financial reform in China. He was also the first chairman of China Institute of Financing and banking, most of his students are the present chairmen and CEOs of the big Chinese financial companies.
Professor Liu is the Founding Chairman, China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), Former Vice Governor, People’s Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China. Former Vice Minister, State Commission for Restructuring the Economic System, Vice Chairman, China Financing and Banking Society, Honorary Director, XinHua Life Insurance Company, Independent Director of the Board, China National Metals and Minerals Imp. & Exp.
